Step Two is Looking at Now
What is the current state of tech at your district? You need to review what is in place now. We will look at five areas to see what you have going at this time.
- Team
- Talent
- Resources
- Budget
- Overarching Strategic Plans/Focuses
If you have not done a review in a while you may want to get your ducks in a row while doing it. This should not just be a quick glance at what you think it happening. You need to data for some areas to support any conclusions you may draw.
Do you have a written list of all software in use? You may think you know what folks are using, but do you have a list of those that are approved for use? Do you know what software is actually being used? Adoption and use are more important than just providing the latest tool… it needs to be used. Unused software that drains your maintenance budget does little to make you stronger.
Do you have a solid list of what hardware is getting old and needs to be replaced? What needs to be E-Wasted and what can give you a few more months/years? Maybe now is the time to make that list.
