Perform a SWOT analyses on your present operations.

SWOT stands for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats.

Analyze your environment and your processes according to the four SWOT categories.

There is no such thing as an organization without weaknesses or a group without threats.

Note: I am not spending a lot of time on SWOT since there are plenty of resources on the web for SWOT – just do a search.magnifying-glass_640

The Product of Step Two:

  • A short list of possible and probable areas of opportunity
  • Knowledge of your weaknesses and threats

Who’s Involved:

  • IT Staff
  • School Site Staff
  • Students (ask them how tech is working now, what do they want?)
  • Administration staff (those not interacting with students directly, but who keep thing running smoothly behind the scenes – accounting, payroll, etc)
